Data Retention and Deletion Policy

MonthlyIQ retains personal and financial information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, satisfy legal obligations, maintain security, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

• Data minimization: collect and retain only what our disclosed functions need.
• Purpose limitation: consumer financial information is used only for disclosed, authorized purposes.
• Secure storage: retained information is protected in transit and at rest.
• Deletion: users may delete their account and personal data, subject to limited lawful retention.

When a user disconnects an institution or deletes their account, MonthlyIQ revokes the Plaid connection using Plaid’s item removal mechanism and stops new collection from that connection.

Following a verified deletion request, MonthlyIQ deletes or irreversibly de-identifies profile, financial account, transaction, recurring obligation, derived insight and consent-linked data from active systems, except information that must be retained for legal, fraud-prevention, security, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes.

Deleted information may persist temporarily in encrypted backups until overwritten. Backups are not used to restore deleted records except for disaster recovery, and deletion is reapplied after any restoration.

Limited security, consent, billing and audit records may be retained to demonstrate compliance, investigate abuse, meet legal obligations or resolve disputes, containing the minimum data necessary.

Deletion requests are authenticated, recorded, processed within applicable legal timeframes and tracked to completion. Retention periods are reviewed at least annually.
